Turning Light Group Classes & Workshops
We offer a range of group classes and workshops: from movement and asana to meditation, through healthy living, applied yoga philosophy, spiritual & personal development, and more. You might begin with improving function in the musculoskeletal system and in breath, working with the mind via meditation, or with diet and lifestyle. Wherever you start, ease begets more ease – in body, mind, and soul.
PureEase Yoga
These classes and workshops are a blend of traditional Hatha Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, Somatics, and Neurodevelopmental Movement. A regular class has centering, mindful movements, yoga poses, and a closing guided relaxation. Breathing practices are fundamental to all PureEase Yoga classes. As in any group class, everyone is doing the same thing, though perhaps with different props or to different degrees, depending on ability. Sign up for a full session or call to inquire about space for drop-ins.
In addition to weekly PureEase Yoga, we periodically offer Meditation and Pranayama (breathing), and an array of workshops from 1.5 hours to a full day on movements for different areas of the body, applied yoga philosophy, and more. Check the Calendar for current offerings. See Sample Workshops below.
Workshops
All workshops can be scheduled on a semi-private basis or by request. We also offer at least one “study group” a year that is a 6-10 months program, allowing a deeper dive into spiritual and personal development. Once we start, this is a closed group. New study groups begin in the fall.
Check out the event calendar for currently scheduled workshops, or browse the list below of past workshops to get an idea of the range we offer. If you see something you’d like to attend, please reach out to me and let me know!

While seeking to feel good, we experience some form of mild discontent or all out misery. Why? What is it that keeps the happiness and fulfillment we seek such a nebulous attainment at best?
People have been asking again for a meditation class. Some of the reasons I have heard include: stress down-regulation, breathing is locked-up, mind is spinning, feeling overwhelmed, wanting to use this “isolation” time proactively to create more Ease and better quality of life!

In the preface of her book, The Yamas & Niyamas: Exploring Yoga's Ethical Practice, Deborah Adele says, "We all want to live well. Let's face it, at the end of the day, it's not how much you have or how much you accomplished that counts.
We are living in an age where the dangers of being driven by that which is hidden inside us, is all too real, and threatening the fabric of our communities. How truly free are we to have a measured thoughtful response to challenges we face?
In short, this program is all about enabling a person to move from surviving to thriving, to move from where they are, to where they want to be. AND, to get there in a process that is calm, steady, and strong. This program is available via private sessions, a group class, and I am willing to travel to work with intact groups.

Do you get back, knee or ankle pain biking, running or gardening? Do your big muscles, like quads, tire easily? When hips are limited, then these other areas take on extra load: both inefficient and contributing to injury. Come learn ways to gain in stability, efficiency, and strength.
Much of our ability to move effortlessly comes from the hips moving in harmony with the pelvis and the spine, while providing a good base for the upper body to rest. Yet ease and freedom of movement can easily be compromised in our hips. Furthermore, hips are often responsible for the pain we feel further down the limbs in our knees, ankles, and feet, or in our lower back.
